Considering that I use the synaptics driver and this bug is almost two
years old and for Edgy (which is no longer supported) I am marking it as
solved. If you believe that it is in error please re-open.

Status: New => Fix
The above info was not set in xorg.conf file for the Synaptics Touchpad
when Edgy is installed.

I have fixed the side scroll for my synaptics touchpad, i had to fix my
xorg.conf file and put this info in
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents""true"
Option "Device"
