As of gnome-power-manager 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 I can successfully login.
There are some problems with appearance of gnome panel, namely it
ignores current theme set in appearance settings (System > Preferences >
Appearance). The problem vanishes when I go to appearance settings (just
opening the dialog,
I too have a problem on battery on my Asus K50ID, any updates on how to fix

Same problem on an ASUS notebook K50Lsince I upgrade to Maverick :
I tried beta and release in 64bits

I have the same bug on the same machine (Wind U210-010), I did not have it
under Lucid and I encountered problems right after I upgraded to the Maverick
RC.

I'm also attaching
