More info : after a while, il noticed that the problem only happens after
rebooting from Windows.
A reboot from Ubuntu, or a fresh start is fine.
Not sure this can help solve the problem, but I've got my workaround.

It depends on what exactly was changed to fix audio for your machine. If
it doesn't work out of the box, there will be alsa updates similar to
what you just installed for maverick.

I'll assume that you needed to update your BIOS to fix some other
problem. I suggest you try updating your alsa drivers, as outlined here:
