Hi. I installed Ub10.10 on a laptop that had windows on it carefully
selecting that I wanted to add Ub as a selectable OS. Well my W7 has
disappeared. This is my first contact with Linux and not too happy. I
- had a backup of my data but still PISSED OFF

Further info on status.
The external USB drive was formatted as Fat32 as /dev/sdc1 and now has an msdos
partition table. (This is in lieu of the three partitions it used to have. -
one Windows XP and two Linux)
An installation of Windows XP on /dev/sda1 was unaffected by the upgrade to
10.10.
I installed Ubuntu 10.10 over 10.04. During the installation, 10.10
accessed my 500 GB external USB drive with 3 partitions on it, The
drive was formatted! These were backup files and I am very worried by
this action.
