Public bug reported:

Testing of the Ubuntu 0.10 beta DVD download (20100908)
Upon trying to install the AMD64 beta product, either using 'Try ...' or
'Install ...' would return with the message:

This kernel requires an x86-64 bit CPU but only detected an i686 CPU.
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

My CPU is, in fact a dual core Pentium T4300 supporting Intel 64.
