I would like to know if anyone read this bug report. Many people are
having problems with this:

Fn+Z enables switch works only when ACPI is disabled, but that is not a

I have a Toshiba A665-SP6004M and I'm having the same problem, I'm
running Ubuntu 10.04 fully patched and updated, the CPU is a Core i7
640M. Hope you get this issue solve.

I have a Toshiba A665-S6054 and have the same exact problem, LED works
up until the GRUB menu and then nothing. I also have tried the BIOS
setting of keyboard backlight "Always On" to no avail.
Specs:
Toshiba A665-S6054
Lucid 10.04 64-bit fully patched and updated
CPU is a Core i5 540 M
