usage evolves by looking at the graphs until it freezes.

Specifying your amount of RAM would also help. If it gets filled up,
your kernel will swap to death/panic. If this is indeed the cause, then

What kind of clips ?
If you add them progressively, does your memory usage progressively go
up ?
