I write a patch to support for looping back audio through ALSA devices (
including mixer control ).
Should be tested in several types of tv/fm tuners and then all the work

To adjusting the volume in ubuntu 12.04 LTS, load snd_mixer_oss module:
sudo modprobe snd_mixer_oss
and restart.
Voila, you can change volume from Gnomeradio UI.

I have sound in gnomeradio and tvtime with and without padsp! I had a fresh
install of 12.04, and installed packets that i saved with synaptic from 10.04.
I do not know if that maked any significance, but what i did do, is opened
alsamixer and unmuted line and aux outputs.
In case it is working
Lack of /dev/mixer is not a bug in alsa-driver.

Unfortunately, I had to unmute the input via alsamixer everytime I
launched TVtime (as it is the only working tool for that) and mute after
I finished watching TV. So I made a little script, you know what to do

I dont know if that will help anyone but i found that in my case, even with
connected TV Card and line in with a sound card i had no sound. Found out that
i just didnt have a loopback module loaded. After loading it :
