Jyio, if i understand you correctly you want to update packages to a newer
version than that is in repos?
That is a bit late unless it gets a FFE.
Is the above what you meant?
Otherwise it should only need to be re-spun on same version.

The version numbers happen to be part of the package names, which ends
up breaking e17 because it depends on specific versions that are not
available. Could it be made to work with the libe*-svn-06 packages?

This should only be a packaging issue as all of the correct dependencies
get marked for installation but the versions are incorrectly read as
being older not newer than the minimum version requirements.

This is an old version. 0.16.999.49898-1 is in Debian unstable and matches the
versions of the rest of the EFL in Ubuntu.
However, all the EFL have now gone alpha removing the svn-version thing.
