Sure, but I fail to see the relation between zooming in/out and moving
up/down/left/right.
I mean, does FFWing a movie in Totem zoom it in or something? How is
that related?

See what happens? Every other app is consistent with that behavior, save
Totem.

Thanks for your bug. That request has been rejected upstream already,
you can read about it on
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332491. What are the "every
app in Ubuntu" you are mentionning? Rhythmbox acts the other way around
and upstream pointed a rhythmbox bug about it
