Ubuntu Dapper. Linux kernel 2.6.15-27-686. Dell Latitude 510. I access it through System, Preferences, Sound. I have also attempted to change it by clicking on the dialog box that appears when I plug in the headset. However, this opens the same dialog as the one under System, Preferences,
