.
The problem seems to occur only on using the Galago plugin

Did you install gaim-dbg?
For gdb:
-gdb gaim
(gdb) run
[close to get the crash]
(gdb) thread apply all bt
that should display the backtrace

This is the backtrace I got from gdb. The first time I'm using it, so
will need guidance if you need more info:
