Konqueror 4.0.83 in Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex does not appear to have this problem.

Konqueror does't remember the window position on re
I'm not entirely sure if this is related, but I believe it is. I
noticed that since Edgy, Konqueror does not properly follow the saved
profile everywhere.
For example, I like to view directories in the detailed mode. So I set
it in the menu View, and save the profile. Then, if I insert a CD, or
confirming.
of course, there is a way to *force* all konq windows to stay maximised,
or to always open maximised, etc. it should behave by default though.
