Very nice. But GDebi closes down completely even if check box is not
checked.

Thank you Doug, but that particular solution causes GDebi to crash. I
have posted the correct way to do it:

The option "Automatically close after the changes have been
successfully applied" is only applied to the current instance of gdebi,
- there is no 'saving' of this globally.
The true bug is that the default for gdebi should be to autoclose and
