I've just done a clean reinstall, the bug is still present, but not
necessarly at the first try.
Maybe you have to go back by some songs, but at a certain point you
won't be able to go back again unless you rapidly hit the button.
I noticed that when the bug triggers, after pressing back normally
It looks there is on maverick a 4seconds delay before swithching between
previous to repeat. Could anyone confirm ?

Well, not really, try this
- start playing
- skip 10-15 songs quickly (next)
- then hit back quickly 5-6 times
- then let the music play for at least 5 seconds
- hit back
RESULT: the song restarts. OK!
- now hit back again at 0:01s
RESULT: the song restarts. FAIL!
- try again
to go to the previous
Can you precise when it happens? Is there a "set" number of songs you
must play for the bug to activate?

You receiv
This bug is valid because in rhythmbox if you press the previous
button in the first 2 seconds of the song, it skips to the previous
one.
In banshee you have to press it even before half a second is passed.
This happens after you've skipped some songs and played, not since the
beginning of the bans
Thank you for your bug report. Unfortunately, I have to close it because
you described the normal behaviour of an application (Banshee always
jumps to the current song beginning when clicking on the "previous"
button, like every other media player).
