ok, reinstalling the nvidia driver did the trick. It detected some files that were apparently overwritten by the recent xorg update from Ubuntu / Edgy Security. After installing the nvidia glx files everything seems to be back to normal. -- xorg segfaults in libglx.so(__glXleaveServer+0x22) https
