I've removed myself from this bug. The problems I had using pulseaudio
have long been fixed, so I wouldn't know if the original problem even
exists in the current kernels.

Can confirm that PulseAudio with ALSA works fine.
This workaround straightened out my audio, when using straight ALSA (no
PulseAudio):
- install the gstreamer bakcend for Phonon (phonon-backend-gstreamer)
- change Phonon backend to use gstreamer in System Settings

installed over the top; no related messages in system logs.

Completely removing pulseaudio (because it only works with my
headphones) and going back to ALSA causes the problem to return. But
still, only for the -6 kernel. Earlier kernels work fine.
