Binary package hint: gcc-4.0
Most Makefiles etc. expect to find at least /usr/bin/gcc - the gcc
packages, however, 4.0 and 3.4 at least in Xubuntu LTS 6.06.1, do not
set any such symlink, so the user and/or make will have to figure out
the precise path and version number.
