I can confirm the same behavior with my HP Pavilion dv6000, Ubuntu 10.04.
Once touchpad's lock button is pressed, menu completely freezes and system must
be restarted using ctrl-alt-del.
This problem didn't happen in earlier versions of Ubuntu.
