David Nicholas, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD
images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue
Initial testing with Kernel 2.6.35-999 does not correct the fault.
Variant tested is 2.6.35-999.201006151505
Behaviour of Suspend function is different to fault reported.
Machine enters a Lock state, rather than a Suspended state. Machine does
not power down. Behaviour is as expected for Lock fun

Disk activity confirmed upon resume.
Sequence:
-sudo sh -c "sync; echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace; pm-suspend"
System enters Suspend.
Upon pressing power button, disk light appears three seperate times (the first
is very quick).
Further tests continuing.

Fault confirmed when tested in VT mode.
Sequence:
- CTRL-ALT-F1 at login (login as normal)
- setfont /usr/share/consolefonts/Uni1-VGA8.psf.gz
- sudo pm-suspend
Laptop enters suspend mode.
No messages reported
Laptop does not resume from suspend.
Further tests to follow.
