Still having the issue in Hardy Using wy too much CPU... and I
print on sheet of paper a month :(

Hi, I'm on feisty and gnome-cups-icon begun to use like 90% of my cpu
just after I disable cupsys in services. Sorry, but I don't know my menu
in english, so to disable cupsys I went to "système -> administration ->
services".
So, the problem started there. But I fixed it by editing
/usr/share/gno
This bug is still around in gutsy too. A crappy, but effective,
workaround is to run 'watch killall -9 gnome-cups-icon'. It is sad that
this workaround is better than this thing running.
Of course, it's also sad that there's this process hanging around,
checking every minute or so "just in case"

This bug was fixed recently and incorporated in Dapper. However, it is
precent in Edgy Eft.

Here's the strace. It seems to access
- my .lpoptions
- /etc/cups/lpoptions
- it's locale
every second, I wonder if this is necessary. Fixing this could be
interesting for notebook users, as the CPU could idle more.
