the 512MB boot option does enable the BCM module to be loaded and does
allow it to be used (I can use iwlist), but on a 64bit machine X
windowed envrionment I cant use it for much!
Its still causing problems in 2.6.17.1-10.34
Is there any idea on when this may be fixed?

[bcm43xx] panic on bo
I have this with 2GB present. This same problem happened on dapper but
got fixed. Looks like its back again.
solution for me is to remove the kernel module (as bcm43xx networking
doesnt yet work for me last time I tried!)

I finally got around to testing with mem=512M. I can now load the
module without a panic. It looks like this is the DMA issue.

If you boot with mem=512 are things any happier? If so, it's the problem
that some Broadcoms have with DMAing to above 1GB. We'll see what we can
do.

I don't know if my bug is related. Also the current (13.09.2006) fresh
Edgy and when I load bcm43xx with modprobe and then ifup eth1 (the
wireless card), I get a hard lockup of the machine, thus a bug in the
driver.
