Hello thanks for the reply.
I installed Exaile and that can see and play the audio CD's fine!
I just don't seem to be able to see it via any other application e.g. nautilus,
brasero, rhythm box etc.
Here is the ~/.xsession-errors log file from boot and running Exaile

After inserting the audio CD, can you open 'Applications -> Multimedia
-> Exaile', then if it exists, click the "Audio Disc" tab, which should
be the bottom tab on the left side. Are the audio files listed?
