By the way I'm on Precise (12.04) using gnome-classic. IIRC it stopped
working when I upgraded the distribution.

program whose icon wasn't showing (rescuetime), but parcellite's
indicator is still absent :(

Solved (sort of).
All I had to do was mv ~/.gconf to ~/.gconf.old, and the problem
disappeared. Now all I have to do is work out which of the million or so
settings in .gconf was affecting it.
