The keyboard layout applet doesn't work properly. If I have several
layouts and change from one to another, the layout doesn,t change
despite the change of name in the keyboard applet icon.

by using Alt+Shift:
setxkbmap -layout "us,cz" -option "grp:alt_shift_toggle"
You can add it to /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart for a system wide
effect.

I cannot add alternate keyboard layout in Lubuntu; this is a showstopper for me
to move from legacy Ubuntu to Lubuntu. I need to switch between US and CZ
keyboard layouts. I hope this missing feature could be added (fixed) in 12.04
LTS.
