it's like 600Kb and it should be on the cd. I have the package on my
laptop, and everytime I reinstall ubuntu on my desktop, I need to
install it in order to gain access to the internet. why is it not on the
cd at the first place anyway?! it's a very small package.

I don't need this anymore, for over 1 year. And I used it for obscure
low quality ADSL USB modem, if that's the only use of this package, then
I think in another 2 years of inactivity on this bug you can simply
close it, because nobody will need it.

Like I said above, yes, it still a problem because the package is still
not shipped in the install CD. The package is needed to use PPPoE
connections with some USB modems.
