Since I upgraded to 10.04 (as suggested by duanedesign), it seems to be
working. Whether or not the issue still persists on 9.10 I can't be
sure as I no longer have a 9.10 system.

Well I started an upgrade last night, and just as I got past the point
of no return I discovered that Ubuntu One on 9.10 had updated fine.
Typical! :o)
I am now on 10.04 on the affected system, not had a chance too fully
test if the issue is resolved. I will do so tonight.

It looks as though your files are trying to download. The service has been slow
due to a spikes in activity associated with the release. Ubuntu One first
downloads the metadata, which is the folders you are seeing, then the files.

I did as you asked. Twice! :o)
The first time I started U1 Client, nothing seemed to happen. Although today
it did authenticate the computer (I have never understood why the U1 Client and
Tomboy need separate registrations).
U1 Client said it was connected after a left-click.

Nothing but the directories are syncing here...
Today I've cleaned my ~/Ubuntu One folder, reinstalled the client
(cleaning its configuration), but the daemon syncronizes only the
directories... No file is downloaded correctly from my UbuntuOne
storage.
