Is there any follow up on this issue? The bug still exists in Edgy with
all the packages updated.

xine-lib issue according to upstream:

With totem-gstreamer they work most of the time but often I get an "Internal
data flow error" (screenshot attached). When that error appears if I just
click ok and then click on the play button, it works and the subtitles show
up fine. That error only appears with movies that have subtitles.

Does it happen with totem-gstreamer too? Do you have an URI to download
an example maybe?

I'm using totem-xine. I just installed Edgy so I hadn't tested it out with
1.5.91. I remember that they were working on Dapper.
