As I told to Fabio there is no more banding issue with natty. I can
confirm it's working well on maverick too.

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

Full updated 10.04 64bit on a iMac 27" i7.
I have very annoying banding issues. It seems that I'm using a 16bit color
depth but my DefaultDepth is set to 24.
I've attached my "/var/log/Xorg.
I've just installed natty narwhall alpha 1 with the ATI drivers and it seems to
work well!!!
No banding issue I can appreciate.
