Hello Jeremy,
I tested today the kubuntu desktop ISO TESTING : daily-live/20100427
/lucid-desktop-amd64.iso and i can shutdown without any problems. Look
like only the Kubuntu DvD build as this bug.
I will try with mainline build kernel, soon as i can.

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-
