This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the

could you please post the output of dmesg and perhaps the the last parts
of /var/log/messages ? also have a look at

I also cannot get Suspend or Hibernate to work on my Dell 9400, in both
cases all I get is a blank screen (still powered on) but no response and
the laptop is totally unresponsive.
Mind you, suspend and hibernate on this have never been good since 8.04 LTS,
it's just got gradually worse over time
