There was no Debian upload in 1.5 years, but there are no Debian/Ubuntu bugs. It has ancient packaging, though (not even using debhelper), but since it has no i18n/gettext and is just by and large an engine, we do not need to worry about translation stripping anyway. So it's a bit rusty, but as a

Yes I would like gnugo in main. It needs no notable dependencies, has had no security issues and includes a large regression testsuite. The testsuite is not part of the package build process currently but could be easily added. I don't want to drop gnugo from a recommends to a suggests, running
