Found the problem. But this is a general PackageKit issue which I can't fix.
While doing some research, (in Google :-P) I found an older version of this
bug, which means this one is a dupe.
Thanks you for you
That's weird, because pkcon said it wasn't.
AFAIK, it only happens with kubuntu-restricted-extras.
What is the difference between apt and aptcc and how do I switch the
backend?

Daemon says the package was installed successfully... Does this _only_ happen
with kubuntu-restricted-extras?
I guess the following: The package recommends a package which uses debhelper,
an apt-feature PackageKit can't handle at time.
I'll check that. What happens if you try the aptcc-backend?
Here it is.

And execute the pkclient command then in a second terminal. Then you cann

This bug is not confirmed as long as I or someone else can't reproduce it.

Can't confirm this, it works for me...
Please do the following: Open two terminals. In the first one you execute this
command(s):
sudo killall packagekitd;sudo packagekitd --verbose
In the second terminal, you do
pkcon install kubuntu-restricted-extras
The first terminal will fill with log messag
I did not change the backend, so I guess I use apt.

Do you use the apt or aptcc backend of PackageKit? (If you haven't changed
anything you should use the apt-backend)
I'll try to reproduce the issue here.

If I execute that, it says that kubuntu-restricted-extras is already
installed, although it isn't. And if I execute "pkcon remove kubuntu-
restricted-extras", it says that it can't be removed because the package
isn't found.

Does the package get installed?
