Cancel that - after half an hour, the wireless became unresponsive again
on kernel 2.6.34-999 generic 64-bit.
A 3Com USB wireless dongle connected to the same system works fine.

- update system (now uname says: Linux msb02 2.6.32-21-generic
#32-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 16 08:09:38 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux)
- reboot
- uninstall completely everything network-manager related
- reboot
- install plasma-widget-networkmanagement (which installs other
