The problems with patents were for the old pwc driver from Nemosoft Unv. They were removed in Linux 2.6.8 if memory served me right. The driver we are talking about here are from Luc Saillard and already are in Edgy, just broken. Updating to the latest version can only be a good thing as many user

Uhhh... ok, I was afraid my webcam is broken I can confirm, only a grey picture in edgy. Until edgy it stopped working, now I know the reason. It's always frustrating if something worked in a previous Ubuntu version and crushed in the new Ubuntu version. Even you can't Ubuntu blaim for this.
