Antonius, an app can ship its own icons; it doesn't need to have them in
ubuntu-mono.
I'd recommend tasque ship a tasque-symbolic icon and use that for its
system status menu.

I've created some panel icons similar in style to tomboy's icons:
lp:~antoniusriha/ubuntu-mono/trunk. Already requested to merge them into
lp:ubuntu-mono, which I assume is the upstream project of lp:ubuntu/ubuntu-mono.
As of version 0.1.11 Tasque already looks for and ships "tasque-panel" icons

A workaround (really not a fix) is the following:
- Open /usr/share/pixmaps as root (gksu nautilus /usr/share/pixmaps)
- Right-click on the tasque-XX.png files -> open with -> gimp
- Not sure how the actions in gimp are exactly named in english, but it should
be something like image -> mode -> gre
