new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you
continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile,
then please comment on this bug.

Fixed the problem here. The pingtest.net caused FFox, IE and Opera all
to crash. I uninstalled all Flash installs and Java and resinstalled
them. Browsers no longer crashes.

Firefox closes completely and has to be manually restarted. When that is done
all I see is "Well this is embarrasing..." screen showing a list of previously
opened tabs and allowing to to reopen them or start a new session. Crash
reporter never runs.

I cannot reproduce this problem with my Firefox. Mind you, I use Debian,
so it might be a fix that has not reached Ubuntu. Which java provides
your java plugin?
