I forgot to mention that clicking on the first half of the button works,
it gives the menu as usual, but clicking on the second half of the
button doesn't do anything.

I am having a similar bug, however my shutdown button is just split in
half and the image loops... see attached image to see what i'm talking
about!
Removing indicator from panel and re-adding it seems to fix the bug, but
that's not something i'm willing to do every restart.

I still see it on a 2nd computer with a fresh Lucid install from the RC.
Shutdown sometimes doesn't.

I get the "Are you sure" dialog when I select restart, but when I
confirm "Restart" and the dialog goes away, nothing seems to happen.
