Manually fixed weeks ago using the symlink proposed on comment #5.
Is it automatically fixed now?

Hello,
I run a fresh install of kubuntu Lucid 10.04 on x86 64 and java-plugins
are installed but not see in menu plugins and if try open a java applet,
firefox crash .
It's quite strange, was fixed with FF daily build when i tried it before
as beta in a virtualbox.
Linux xx 2.6.32-21-generic
Hi, I am also unable to install the JRE-plugin, using the installation
instructions on
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/linux_install.xml#selfextracting.
Meanwhile I have repeated this install-procedure for at least two JRE
version, and always Firefox seems to notice nothing of the JRE plugin.
