I see the same general issue on a kubuntu 10.04.1 live system (USB drive). Tell KPackageKit to apply changes ... and wait a few seconds, and nothing got installed. Console output looks the same (ibus stuff). I can install using apt-get just fine. -- kpackagekit fails silently when attempting to
