I received a replacement wireless adapter in the mail (based on the same
chipset) and after installing it, was disappointed to receive the same
error.
On a whim, I returned it and ordered the other wireless card the X60
supports (Intel Pro/wireless 3945ABG) and installed it. It works
perfectly.

Yep, I've run though the memtest86+ option in grub a couple times - no
errors.
I've actually ordered a new wireless adapter that should be here in a
couple weeks. I suspect (and hope ;) it's a hardware problem with the
adapter I have.
