seems to be fixed in shotwell 0.11.2 in oneiric. (tested with 40D
files). EOG in oneiric will not render the files at all though.

wow, this is bug over a year old and still not fixed :(
I have a new canon 1000d and make raw fotos .CR2 files and they are flipped
mirrored in this programms:
* shotwell 0.9.2
* Eye of GNOME 2.32.1
In the following apps the pictures are NOT mirrored, that means in the original
orientation:
* F-
i am seeing the same thing in shotwell http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/3508
(several example files there) do they all use the same raw loader?

I have the same problem with TIF files, wich are converted from Canon 5D
RAW files.
I can confirm, that the problem is somehow related to the EXIF, because
only these files are mirrored, wich was taken as portrait. I also not
sure, what Angel Abad said about the preview picture, because i don't
kn
I have this bug on eog with my lucid lynx and CR2 files.
The images in "landscape" mode are well displayed.
But all the "protrait' image are mirrored and not autorotate (thanks to the
exif tag).
The problem don't appear with F-spot.
The thumbnails in nautilus and in the eog collection is well disp

I don't quite understand the first paragraph. Sounds like the reason is
that the file is corrupted? This happens only for some pictures, I can
not recognize a pattern.
I can now confirm them failing to open in F-Spot though. File corruption
seems quite possible here. :(

AFAIK Ubuntu doesn't install libopenraw's gdk-pixbuf plugin so what you see is
likely the included preview image which is loaded by the standard TIFF loader.
Still, the file seems to be corrupted. Both dcraw and libopenraw fail to open
it.
