I decided to keep a Mint 9 KDE partition in my laptop and test the bug

I've tried Kubuntu Maverick (RC) and the problem remains, so probably it
will still be present in the next Mint KDE release (Mint 10), unless
someone can solve the bug before. In the meantime, I am working with
Mint 9 Gnome without problems, but I miss KDE.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! I have tried live versions (final release) of Ubuntu and
Kubuntu Lucid (10.04 LTS): Ubuntu Lucid worked perfectly with UDF volume; in
contrast, Kubuntu Lucid give the same error as Kubuntu Karmic and Mint Helena

Thanks. I'll mark the bug as upstream so. I get the same issue here on
one of the laptops too. It looks like a kernel issue to me and my
intuition is that a boot parameter will fix it.
