This seems to have been fixed at some point, I now get: mount: only root
can do that.

mount /dev/fd0
does not work
udisks --mount /dev/fd0
works. Unfortunately if I try adding any argument to tell it what filesystem to
use it says "Not a mountable filesystem"

Currently using Ubuntu Lucid. The floppy disk successfully mounts then
immediately unmounts. "mount /dev/fd0; mount" shows the floppy as
mounted, but if the two calls to mount are on different lines then it
will already be unmounted. There is a faulty daemon which is unmounting
any floppy that gets
Same problem and same solution here, with ubuntu 9.10-amd64.
This (broken) behavior is different to any other unix or linux OS I have
used.
