Until last night it was showing up "12 days since last update" and
opening now, showed up "8 hours". And after looking for new updates,
"less than one hour". :-)
$ apt-cache policy update-manager

Thanks for your bugreport.
Could you please open a termianl and run:
$ sudo apt-get update
and attach the output? It records the last succesfull update, if one of your
sources.list entries fails, it does not count that.
