Agreed.
And many dialogs in GNOME close on ESC though (e.g. nearly all preferences
windows, even that of nautilus ;-) )

I noticed this too, in the properties window for files and disks.
Esc is easier to press and to remember than ctrl+w.
If GNOME and Windows have all things different, it makes it difficult to
migrate from Windows to Linux. It should be as easy as possible.

I have the same opinion as Séb. I'd suggest to talk with the upstream
authors, if you have really strong feelings about this.

Thanks for your bug. GNOME applications uses Ctrl-W usually to close I
window, I'm not convinced that esc should close them too, it's only one
key and could be pressed by mistake by example
