I remember I had a similar problem with my Lenovo R60 when I installed
Lucid the first time. I think a command such as "reconfigure alsa" or so
solved it, but i cant remember the command.

I have exactly the same problem, with the same soundcard, on a Mac Pro
Desktop.
I think once I heard some faint sounds over my Headphone connected to
the front 3.5mm socket, but that was all.
Didnt file a seperate bug, as it seems a Mac-related problem and I have
the same soundcard.

I am running 10.4LTS on a macbook air 2,1 and have no sound through the
speaker and the microphone doesn't work. Sound does output through the
line out jack.
I'm also new to launchpad. Should this be raised as a new bug or
