I found a workarround thats fine for me. Customize the command in the
preference menu:
"dbus-send --print-reply --dest=org.gnome.SessionManager
/org/gnome/SessionManager org.gnome.SessionManager.RequestShutd

Also instead of restart it logout!

I can confirm this bug on Lucid 10.04. Linux ubuntu 2.6.32-22-generic.
Gshutdown only logs out instead of shutting down the computer[laptop].
Any help correcting this bug is appreciated. Thank you in advance. :)

on. It logged out instead of shutting down. I used a timer when I set it

I can confirm this bug - GShutdown in Ubuntu 9.10 doesn't turn off the
computer, only logout instead of shutdown :(
