Daniel, you should have a look at bug 54858 of which this bug is a
duplicate. A dirty fix is a symlink from /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri to
/usr/lib/dri.

I have installed libgl1-mesa-dri (it wasn´t installed after the install
of Knot-1), restarted X, and direct rendering is still off:
$ apt-cache policy libgl1-mesa-dri
libgl1-mesa-dri:
Installed: 6.5.0.cvs.20060725-0ubuntu1
Candidate: 6.5.0.cvs.20060725-0ubuntu1
Version table:
*** 6.5.0.cvs.
This should work with the package libgl1-mesa-dri installed - can you
confirm that the install & upgrade didn't install libgl1-mesa-dri, and
that it works when the package is installed?
