Thanks for reporting. With Empathy and Gwibber removed, and Evolution not selected as the default mail client, I can confirm this behavior as of Lucid Beta 1. The same applies with Evolution removed as well. As per the specification [1], the icon should not appear in these cases. [1] https://wiki.
